Hi everyone. I am Milt and my buddy is Tommy. We are here in central Alabama. Tommy's father head quite a collection so we are starting a "business". I gave my cousin money for a wine bottle and pig bank about the size of a football full of pennies. Now I have given her more for mason jars of nickels, dimes and quarters. I have found 5 S pennies in the last hour. We MAY be able to get through the pennies by Christmas but I am not making bets. So far just about got through the wine bottle. Tommy had a bunch of pennies a few nights ago and he dropped them on his bedroom floor. The next day or so he finally started to pick them up when one caught his eye. He has really sharp vision by the way. I think it was a 65. But the main thing is that it is smaller- about the diameter of a dime AND only half the thickness (if that). Looks to be in pretty good shape.
I googled it and found that a guy who metal detects had found a similar one in 2013 in Va. Very rough looking but the pic was not good. Do not remember the article saying what the date was (if they could read it). Oh, here is a 1969 S with a floating roof and just a little doubling. Good hunting y'all !

Re: New Guys in Central Alabama
Google is not your friend when it comes to looking up coin values or mint errors. Rather you use Google to find a good website like error-ref.com or a search price guide. Google can't discern good information from bad information but can link you to the accurate information.
And welcome to the forum.
